Small hardcover is full bound in brown leather with four raised bands on spine creating five panels. The binding is intact. Hinges NOT cracked. The edges are heavily worn and rounded, exposing the boards at the tips. No lettering on spine; if there were any labels on the panels, they are gone. Minor fraying at the head of the spine. Covers are rubbed and scuffed with small stains. The front free endpaper and following flyleaf are detached but present; both are chipped at the edges. Front free endpaper has an old name in ink, partially transferred to the front endpaper. Pages lightly and uniformly tanned but still supple. Text is free of marks, underlining, and highlighting. Tanning of pages throughout. Small piece torn from lateral edge of p 39; gutter between pp 60 & 61 and pp 108 & 109 is somewhat weakened. Superficial creasing to upper corner of pp 127 – 147. Crease/small tear to upper corner (near spine) of pp 205 to the end of the book. Slight discoloration/dried glue of lower spine (where private library label removed??). Moderate cover wear with sound bumping of corners and slight bowing of both boards.
