About This Item
Robert Hancock's work as a porcelain designer and engraver is highly collectable. He became a draughtsman and engraver to the Worcester Porcelain Works in the late 1750s, and engraved plates for the transfer-printed work for which the company was known. For a while he became one of the proprietors of the works. His work for the transfer-printed Worcester porcelain uses the signature "R.H", "R.H.fecit", "R.Hancock fecit Worcester", and other variations, and his mark was an anchor rebus. produced pastoral scenes and portraits. This substantial hardback book is in Good serviceable condition, with detailed information about his works, his attributed works, and his life. No wrapper, illustrated with many b/w plates.
