London: Cassell & Company, 1890. Second Edition . Half Leather - Hardbound. Very Good/No Jacket. Complete in two volumes, half bound with dark green leather over spine and corners, and marbled paper over boards. Raised spine bands and gilt stamped lettering and decoration. Marbled edges and end leaves. Book plate on front paste down of each volume, of the Earl of Cromer. There is a two page letter tipped to the front free end page with a red embossed Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom. The letter is dated July 25, 1918 and addressed "Dear Garter..." It is signed "I am very truly / ?romer (?)," and sub noted "The garter King of Arms." Leather covers are a little rubbed. Paper covers are worn along edges and rubbed near center of cover. Both volumes remain tight and clean.
