The first edition, first printing with a complete numberline. In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Illustrated throughout by Edward Gorey with monochrome vignettes.This work was written by Howard Moss, an American poet, editor and dramatist and winner of the National Book Award for his 1972 work 'Selected Poems'. This humorous work features a collection of short stories about famous historical figures, based very loosely of anecdotes and illustrated with Edward Gorey's unique illustrations. In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally lovely. The wrap is excellent with only slight sunning to the spine and handling marks to the rear.
