London: O'Brian and O'Keeffe, 1974. First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Very Good. 8.5" by 5.5". None. A first edition of Shaun Traynor's 'The Hardening Ground', signed by the author. The Northern Irish poet's first collection, 'The Hardening Ground' sees "poems of place and of conflict". Some of this novels in this collection include 'The Child and the Thrush', 'Fitzrovia', and 'Meditations of the Suspension of Stormont 1972'. In cloth binding with gilt detailing and original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally quite smart. Minor wear to the joints and extremities. The dustwrapper is worn to joints and somewhat chipped. Internally, generally firmly bound, though lightly strained in places. Pages are bright and clean throughout. Very Good Indeed
