Heavy black and white buckram cloth over boards with illustrated oval paste-on encircled in gilt to front and gilt lettering to spine in a heavy maroon slipcase with gilt lettering and illustration. Book is Fine, nearly As New. Unmarked. Binding and hinges perfect. Slipcase is Near Fine with shelf and handling wear. No markings. Not from a library. 487 pages printed on heavy high-quality paper. A massive and beautifully illustrated book that reproduces the largest number of Currier & Ives ever in one volume, including several never before published. 400 illustrations of which 300 are in full color. Each print is captioned with its original title, date of publication and artist when known. All the illustrations, except for one, come from the Harry T. Peters collection, the world's largest and finest assemblage of Currier & Ives lithographs.
