Levien's pioneer camp and a further eight monochrome plates with multiple photographs to each. Collated complete. In the original cloth binding. A novelised take on district officer and mining promoter, Cecil John Levien's quest to acquire rights to mine the gold fields of New Guinea. The author writes vivid descriptions of the great treks from the Coast to the aeroplane fleets that conquered mountains and jungles. In the publisher's original unclipped dust wrapper. In the original cloth binding. Externally, with handling marks to the boards and slight bumping to the head and tail of spine. Dust wrapper is edge worn, with small chipping to the head and tail of spine. Wrap is sunned and marked. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with age toning and light spotting to the endpapers. Very Good Indeed
