Signed by the author to Jerry and Gayle. Book as new. Unclipped dust jacket shows faintest age tanning and wear. 90 pages. Fiction. 5.75" X8.5" X 0.5" Gerald Green wrote multiple novels, won an Emmy for one of his teleplays and was awarded the Dag Hammarskjöld International Peace Prize for literature, 1979 for "Holocaust". "Girl" is a novella about a very clever dog and her owner a drifter named E.J. Riddle. The two toured on the carnival circuit where Girl responded to Mr. Riddle's every request. but when they go on a TV talk show the host becomes determined to expose them as a fraud and destroys the love between them.
