From the library of noteworthy English classicist Bernard Knox, the first director of the Center for Hellenic Studies, with his ownership signature in ink to front flyleaf and with his occasional pencil marginalia throughout. Laid in are two folded pages of Knox's stationary, with his handwritten intelligent and endearing notes to author MARTHA NUSSBAUM concerning the review he has written for her book; the verso of each sheet is typewritten and concerns Aeschylus. This first hardcover trade edition somewhat uncommon.
