Arthur Barker Limited, 1954. Hardcover. Good. 1954. First edition thus. 306 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth covered boards with gilt. Black and white illustrations throughout. Pages with some foxing and tanning, particularly to endpapers and textblock edges. Some cracking to gutters with exposed netting. Binding loose. Dedication to front pastedown. One page drawn on at front. Boards have heavy shelf wear with bumping and fraying to corners and crushing, fraying and tearing to spine ends and edges. All surfaces tanned and sunned, particularly spine. Gilt lettering to spine is strongly dulled. Some additional heavy marks and staining.
