This work is an informative guide into the art of farriery, alongside information to the health and welfare of horses, with advice on treating various ailments.Illustrated with a frontispiece.Written by Francis Clater. Clater also published 'Every Man His Own Cattle Doctor', at the request of his employers who were farmers. He practised as a chemist, druggist, and cattle doctor, meaning this his medical advice in his works are trustworthy, and well respected at the time.The twenty-second edition of this work.Bookplate of Kenneth James Hill to the front paste down. Rebound in paper covered boards. Externally, with some rubbing to the boards resulting in a little loss of paper. Spine has been reinforced. Spine label is lifting a little. Bumping to the extremities. Some loss to the head and tail of the spine. Front hinge has been reinforced. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are age-toned and generally clean with some spots and light tide marks to some pages. Frontispiece has been amateurly repaired with an additional leaf adhered to the reverse. Gutter to the reverse of the title page and first leaf of introduction has been reinforced. Pages v to xii are detached but present. Good Only
