About This Item
London: Adam and Charles Black, 1912. Cloth. Very Good. 9" by 6.5". John Fulleylove. An early edition of this travel work exploring Edinburgh, beautifully illustrated in colour by John Fulleylove. An early edition of this work in the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Illustrated with twenty colour plates. Collated, complete. A travel work exploring the city of Edinburgh, described by Rosaline Masson (18671949), focusing on the city's antiquities and places of interest, such as Edinburgh Castle, the Church of St. Giles, and the home of Robert Louis Stevenson. Originally published in 1904, this work also describes the lives of some notable inhabitants and famous visitors. Charmingly illustrated by the English landscape artist John Fulleylove (1845-1908). In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Externally bright and smart, though bumped to the extremities with slight fading to the spine. Internally, generally firmly bound, though a little strained in a couple of places. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot to leaves facing plates, and some offsetting to the half title page and the last page. Very Good
