NEW YORK: HENRY HOLT, 1957 Navy Blue cloth quarter binding with White and Yellow titles to spine and pale blue cloth boards, 215 x 145 mm approx. Maps to end papers, [viii] + 244 pp 32 pp of monochrome photos. First American Edition signed by the author in ink to the half title page. Good/ Poor (Book - soiling and and moderate shelf wear to boards, light offset browning bands to free end papers, mild even tanning to paper of book block, author signature as above, no previous owner name or insc. Dust Jacket- slight tide marks to both panel evidencing a liquid spillage, significant shelf rubbing / loss/ tears and associated line creases and some soiling. Non price clipped - cover $3.95. Some respectability restored by the fitting of a removable proprietary protective sleeve to prevent further degradation and to which pieces of coloured paper have been inserted to mask the stark white of the backing paper so as not to draw the eye on the bookshelf).
