From the library of Professor Cecil H. Clough (1930-2017), Reader in Medieval History, University of Liverpool. Pietro Antonio Bolongaro Crevenna (1736-1792), a Milanese tobacco merchant based in Amsterdam, amassed one of the finest private collections of its time. He compiled the catalogue himself, and it was first issued in 1775-6, privately printed in three hundred copies. A second catalogue appeared in 1789, in anticipation of the sale of the collection in 1790. Taylor, P. 238.
