Captain Jack (1847-1917) fought in the Civil War at age 16, was severely wounded at 17 in the Battle of the Wilderness, became a US Cavalry scout, superior horseman, entertainer, poet, and entrepreneur. He wrote for magazines, became known nationally as The Poet Scout, and between 1886 and 1913, wrote 7 books. Joining the Klondike Gold Rush, in Dawson City, Yukon Territory, he was a civic leader and master of ceremonies for events. He led the 4th of July and Dominion parades.
This book of Captain Jack's adventurous life includes 42 illustrations and has Notes, Bibliography, and Index. For sale at a bargain price, this is a like-new hardbound collectible first edition.
