London: Methuen and Company Ltd. 1968. First edition, first printing. First edition, first printing. Original turquoise paper-covered boards with gilt titles and an orange motif to the spine, in dustwrapper. Illustrated throughout in black and white by Robin Jacques. A very good copy, the binding firm and clean, the spine with a slight lean, the bottom corners gently bumped. The contents are clean and bright throughout. Complete with the lightly rubbed, nicked and creased original dustwrapper which has a very short closed tear on the bottom edge of the rear panel. Not price-clipped (21s on the front flap). A collection of retellings of folk tales about ghosts. Ruth Manning-Sanders wrote 22 volumes of folk and fairy tale retellings between 1962 and 1984, all illustrated by Robin Jacques.
