About This Item
First hardcover edition, published by The University Press of Kentucky, 1997. Col. Kelly interviewed more than one hundred veterans over the course of a decade. From those interviews, with the addition of historical background, come these stories of men who endured extreme combat situations. 226 pages, with Index, and Sources. Illustrated through the text with photos. The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped, there is a crease mark to the front flap, runs vertically from top to bottom on the flap. Dark blue heavy weight cloth covered boards with the title and author name imprinted on the spine in gold. Boards are flat and the corners are not bumped or creased. No edge wear to the boards. Edges of the text block are clean. The sewn binding is tight and square. Very light bump to the fore edge from shelf wear. Small dot of a rubbing wear mark to the top left of the back cover, about the size of a sesame seed.
