About This Item

London: John Murray, 1902. 1st UK ed. (1st U.S. in same year) . Dark Cloth. VG for age/No Jacket. 15 Cm x 21 Cm. xvi+204; small early sig. top front endpapers, faint tanning to outer sides of endpapers, more so to the rear one, two small brown spots to t.p. plus faint edge-tanning, occ. unerased marginal pencil lines may remain and spotted short ink lines on two pages, some encil and ink notes to recto rear endpaper apaprently early; covers exceptionally good being clean, unworn and unrubbed - just a small trivial whitish fleck below title on front. Scarce especially outside U.S. An ambitious early attempt at developing something akin to what would now be termed anthropological psychology. While accepting the reality of racial psychological differences this is hardly a Scientific Racism text and Brinton seeks to explain differences as much by geographical environmental conditions as heredity. Note: quoted shipping rates are calculated for 500-700 gram net weight, cost will be modified up or down as appropriate outside this range.
