With one hundred and fifty illustrations. A historical commentary on the architecture of ancient streets and homesteads across England. With chapters on Chester, Shrewsbury, Cornwall, Glastonbury, Winchester, Salisbury, Hertford, Cambridge, Nottingham, Newcastle, The Isle of Man, and more. Written and illustrated by Alfred Rimmer, a British visual artist and author. Engraved by James Davis Cooper, a British wood engraver. In the original red cloth binding. Externally, sound with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine with marks to the boards. A tide mark to the rear board. Splits in the cloth to the head and tail of the spine resulting in minor loss. Small splits in the cloth to the joints with a small puncture to the front joint. Front hinge tender and rear hinge starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting predominantly to the first and last few pages. Good
