London: MacMillan and Co., 1890. xv,(1),251,(4) pp. Small Octavo. (19.6 X 13.5 cm.) Original bright red cloth. Gilt title on spine. All edges untrimmed. Top edge somewhat dust soiled. Frontis piece., 10 plates. Folding map at end (route shown in red). Publishers catalogue at the end. Overall a much superior copy with on the slightest fading on the spine. Neate G50. An Irish civil servant and one of the first to climb Canada, making the first ascent of Mt. Bonney in the Selkirks in 1888. First title dealing with mountaineering in Canada. Green's explorations lead to the discovery of Lake Louise and the building of the Chateau Lake Louise being built on its current location. 1890
