A. Whitman & co, 1937-01-01. Hardcover. Good/Missing. The Junior Literary Guild and Albert Whitman & Company, 1937. Hardcover, 123 pp. First edition. Good / NO dust jacket. Tan cloth covered boards with light blue lettering on front and spine. Light nicking and fraying to cloth at corner tips and top and bottom of spine. Light to moderate overall scuffing, spotting and soiling to covers as well. Binding tight. Charming cull color end papers have a few nicks and tears to the top edges. Previous owner's book plate on free end paper. Otherwise pages are lightly aged but unmarked with occasional light spotting and soiling. NOT Ex-Library. NO remainder marks. Includes a page of Italian words and phrases at the back. This is the story of a day in the life of lovable Italian boy, Ricco, as he celebrates his 8th birthday with family and friends in his small Italian fishing village. Charmingly written and beautifully illustrated by Eleanor Hubbard Wilson (1904 - 1992).
