Description:
R. Farmes & Sons. Trench football is a printed card maze within a wooden case and glass front. It was made by R. Farmers & Sons in 1916. The objective of the game is to guide the ball from "kick off" past the pot holes marked with cartoon images of German military leaders and politicians (such as Hindenburg, Terpitz and Zeppelin). The player needs to guide the ball past the Kaiser's open mouth into the back of the net. In superb condition, both front and back are with no damage or colour loss. There are copies in the Imperial War Museum and National Football Museum. . Near Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 1916.

Description:
Century. First edition published in 2005 by Century. This is a near fine copy. The elusive glossy white wrapper is complete without any loss. There is the occasional mark and tiny amounts of edge wear. There is very little toning though. The book is square and tight. There is a shade of toning to the spine. The copyright page shows the correct numberline going down to 1, indicating a first print copy. Overall near fine. Most first edition books in hardback were issued and sold without a jacket, with only a small quantity within the print run obtaining one. So jacketed copies are hard to find. . Near Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 2005.

Description:
Kaye & Ward. First edition published by Kaye & Ward in 1982. This is a very good copy. Issued without a dust wrapper and rare as quite a few of the first print copies went to libraries. This copy has a small bump to the top corner of the upper board. The back board has two chips to the laminate where a previous owner has attempted to take the price sticker off. The pages are very clean, without marks, ink or stamps. Overall a collectible copy. Cover design by Victor Ambrus. The classic great war story about a young horse called Joey being sent to the western front in France. It was adapted to the big screen by Steven Spielberg in 2011. . Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 1982.

George Allen & Unwin. First edition published by George Allen and Unwin in 1934. This is a very good or better copy. The bright mustard jacket has minor wear to the top and bottom of the toned spine. There are two small tears to the top edge. There is general minor wear to the edges and corners. On the reverse of the jacket is a piece of tape that has repaired one of the tears. Description:
Macmillan and Co. London: Macmillan and Co., 1937 8vo., burgundy cloth, lettered in gilt to upper board and spine, in the charming pictorial dust jacket designed by Bip Pares (6'-net); pp. [iv], 218, [ii]; a fine copy, with a couple of miniscule marks to prelims; jacket near-fine, very mildly shelf-worn with the spine a touch creased to head but retaining all of its brightness; a lovely example. First edition. We Are Not Alone has been compared to Goodbye, Mr Chips in its sombre depiction of discrimination in the build-up to the First World War. Set in the fictional English factory town of Calderbury, it follows the lives of the village surgeon, David Newcome, and his fateful relationship with Leni, a German dancer. Little is known about Pares, the illustrator of so many eye-catching dust jackets produced in the 1930s and 40s. Born in 1904, Ethel Pares studied at the Slade in the 1920s before becoming a commercial artist, producing illustrations and posters for…

Jonathan Cape. 8vo., aquamarine publisher's boards, lettered in gilt along the spine; in the unclipped pictorial dust jacket designed by Quentin Blake (£6.50 net); pp. [vi], 7-206, [ii]; illustrated throughout with line drawings by Quentin Blake; a near-fine copy of this classic children's work, the pages ever-so-slightly toned, with spine tips a touch pressed; jacket, aside from some minor creases and a couple of spots to the rear flap, also near-fine. First edition. The Witches, one of Dahl's best-selling books, tells the frightening story of a world in which Witches abound, occasionally gathering under the leadership of the Grand High Witch, who plots to turn all unsuspecting children into mice.
