Tom Leonard was one of this country's outstanding photographers of industrial and architectural subjects. His studio was on New York's West 56th Street but most of his photographic activity took place in the outdoors on location.
Tom Leonard saw his subjects in terms of mass and line, light and shade. These were the important components to him and their inter­relationship determined the outcome of his photographs.
