7.75" x 10.75" cloth bound photo album with a total of around 90 photos. Written on the front cover is "Prop. Of Henry A. Lorenz, 15th Air Base, Albrook Field, Canal Zone, Panama." A card with an image of a bird is attached to the inside front cover and says "Real bird feathers. Made in Panama City. This album and its contents is the property of Henry A. Lorenz. All pictures were taken by my friends or myself." The photos inside are various sizes and are held to the page with corner tabs. Embossed onion skin pages separate each of the pages. The only date I see inside is from 1939. Around a dozen photos are missing from the page, and there are 8 detached photos tucked inside. Most of the album is annotated, and there are photos of the airfield, entertainment, natives, Rio Hato, Anton, near Balboa harbor, Panama City, 15th air base barracks, reptiles and snakes, straw huts, Zuk Village, airplanes, San Blas Island, etc. A nice, identified album from the Canal Zone, before the start of World War II.

There are forty-four 10.75" x 13.5" mounted albumen photos from the Passion Play at Oberammergau. This portfolio of photos is credited to Joseph Albert (1825-1886), a German Photographer and inventor. The Passion Play tells the story of Jesus, from his visit to Jerusalem to his crucifixion. In the autumn of 1871, after the Passion Play had been interrupted and resumed due to the Franco-Prussian War, the Play was documented at the express request of King Ludwig II by his famous court photographer Joseph Albert. This portfolio is undated, but appears to be from this time period. The red covers are tattered and stained. There is evidence that there was once onion skin protective papers between the photos at one time. The photos have edge wear and chips. The first two photos have reddish stains at the edges. A few photos are numbered in pencil at the bottom right edge. I read that there were originally 60 photos, so 16 are missing. A lot of thirteen 3.25" x 4.5" snapshots featuring woman golfer Patty Berg. (Her name is misspelled on one of the photos). Berg was the first President of the LPGA when it was formed in 1950. Photos of her golfing, the crowds and golf course. In good overall condition.

The Pennington Seminary, founded in 1838, known today as The Pennington School is located in Pennington, New Jersey. At its inception, it was an all boys academy and became a co-ed school in 1854. In 1910, the prep became a school for boys once more. This 72 leaves/144 pages, 9 1/4" x 12" school boy's scrapbook album contains approximately 150 photographs, newspaper clippings, school songs, bills & programs. This material in this album was made between 1910-1913. There is one item from 1901, and one from 1909. Inside the front cover, "UNDERHILL" is stamped indicating the property of Arther Underhill, class of 1913. Underhill was an industrious young man. He was a member of the Alpha Omega fraternity, track & field, gymnastics, football, and baseball. He won "Neatest Room in Liberty Hall" for which he received $5. Walter "Bunny" Sigler (March 27, 1941 - October 6, 2017) is best known for his work as an R&B singer, songwriter, and influential producer of the "Philly Soul Sound", alongside Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff at Philadelphia International Records. He first emerged on the scene in 1967 with a rendition Shirley and Lee's "Let the Good Times Roll" which quickly ascended to the top of the Billboard charts. He was then brought onto work with the Philadelphia International Records company, and the rest is history. From his obituary in the New York Times: "He wrote and produced songs for the O'Jays, Patti LaBelle and many other acts on Mr. Gamble and Mr. Huff's Philadelphia International label. In a 2008 NPR interview, Mr. Gamble said that he, Mr. Huff and Mr. Sigler had also provided background vocals on songs like Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes' 1972 Top 10 hit, "If You Don't Know Me by Now." A large collection of personal photos from Biagio Pinto (1911-1989), an artist known for his paintings as well as photography. There are approximately 500 photos with about 450 8x10 photos, mostly black and white with a few in color and about 50 snapshots and some slightly larger than snapshot photos. Most of these photographs, date from the 1960s with a few earlier and a few later. They appear to be mostly personal photos of Pinto's family, with images of his wife, Sarala, a sculptor and a few of his daughter (I believe), Gina. There are photos of artwork, ballet, artists, fashion shots, and about 25 nude photos of his wife. The majority of the larger photos are stamped on the verso "Biagio Pinto," with various addresses in Philadelphia. 10 3/4" x 12" album of 48 leaves/ 86 pages, mostly double-sided though a few pages are blank. 156 photographs, 35 newspaper clippings, an invitation to wedding anniversary, etc. The cover is a dark blue fabric with lace doily around the edge. An insert in the center of the front cover houses the letters "BM" for "Bache-Martin". According to invitations near the end of the album, it is likely that this album with the property of Mrs. Gennie Aldridge. Bache-Martin School is a pre-kindergarten to eighth grade elementary school that is still in operation in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia. This school is a combination of two school districts. Bache School was built in the early 1920s and Martin School was built in the 1930s and was the first school in the Philadelphia school system built for disabled students. There are 77 photos in this 7.25" x 10" this circa 1910 photo album. Forty-eight photos are of antique furniture, most with typewritten paste-down identifications. Then there are some catalog or magazine cut-outs on antique furniture and in the back of the album are twenty-nine snapshots of a trip to what I believe is the American South. One photo shows the E.E. Forbes Piano Company in the background, which was one of the largest retailers of pianos and organs in the Southern United States during the first quarter of the 20th Century. A couple of photos show a man looking at furniture at an antique store, and others show horse and buggy and mule transportation of heavy items and some large estates. One of the interesting things in this album, is the label on the inside cover which says "From the Studios of MERTON L. GERSHUN, Designer of Furniture - 666 Lake Shore Drive, Chicago." Circa 1910 photo signed by photographer Dorothy Hickling in pencil with her studio address of 117 Edbury Street, London, written to the left. The photo measures 4.25" x 5.5" and with the mount measures 5.75" x 6.5." The woman is not identified, but I believe that she is English Poet and Novelist, Mary Webb (1881-1927). There is another photo by Dorothy Hickling online which is identified as Mary Webb, and they look to be the same woman. Regardless, this photo is quite striking. Two of Hickling's portrait photos are in the collection of the National Gallery. The photo is in very good condition.

6.325" x 8.325" photo attributed to Francis Alfred Bolton (1866-1951), who was an English photographer from a wealthy family. This is from the series of photographs called "Shepherd Boy." Unmounted platinum or other related metal type of print. Two small imperfections, one of which looks like part of a finger print, towards the top.

McManus, Photographer, New York." Harold E. Gill, whose name is printed on the cover, was a member of the crew team. Seven leaves are used for the headshots of the 250 students (many of whom became men of letters, mathematicians, or coaches on their respective fields). Most, except for the last 18, provide the signature of the student. After the headshots are group photographs. Two of the entire class, and then several of various clubs, including sports teams including football, baseball, basketball, wrestling, soccer, fencing, hockey, and crew. This was the final year Woodrow Wilson served as the President of University in New Jersey, before being elected President of the United States a few years later. There are over 170 photographs in this amazing two album collection documenting photographic experiments, camera parts and repairs, new inventions as well as a few shots of the repairmen at work from the famed and beloved Professional Camera Repair Service shop in New York City. Started and run by repairman and inventor Martin Forscher, and joined by additional talented "mechanical wizard" Buddy Graves and others, the repair shop serviced camera bodies of all types for more than 40 years (Marty owned it from its birth in 1946 to when he sold it in 1987), as well as birthing new camera related alterations and creations that changed the ways and locations cameras could be used forever. Over 175 unique drawings and doodles from this anonymous amateur artist, mostly on restaurant order slips, exploring and experimenting in a range of themes and drawing styles. Mediums used are ballpoint pen, pencil, markers and collage. Drawings are signed DR and dated between 1988 - 1993. The waiter/artist explores primarily figures and faces in various poses and emotions, Picasso-esque cubism and segmenting the body, and abstraction. On a few drawings are musings about deeper meanings coming through the casual doodles, like "it makes sense but what does it all mean", "what am I doing" and longer descriptive analyses of the relations of the drawn figures, jotted on the reverse side.
