Tomas Transtromer, winner of the 2011 Nobel Prize in Literature, was a poet and psychologist. This edition of his work was translated by noted poet Robert Bly. The Swedish version of his book was a pamphlet published in 1970, one of the first publications of the new Writers' Publishing House in Stockholm. This translation was published in the United States in 1971. It was hand-set. Another edition of this book was published in London in 1972, but this is earlier edition.This paperback is in very good condition, with only a few markings on the last couple of pages. It was the copy of American poet May Swenson, who was a translator of Transtromer's poetry (Windows and Stones, 1972) and she used this copy as research.
