Self-printed softcovers, w/ rocket lift-off on front cover (slight shelfwear), NF copy. First edition of this relatively uncommon, brochure handed out at the NASA exhibit during the run of the Century 21 Exposition Seattle World’s Fair in 1962. Located in the Pacific Science Center, full scale satellites and exhibits were on display, along with displays of scientific instruments, computers, tracking computers, Saturn Rocket texting and launch, the John Glenn space capsule, and detailed information on projects Gemini and Apollo.

After the unions were dissolved by Hitler in May, 1933, many of the NSBO thought they would become a state-sanctioned monopoly, instead they were relegated to a minority position and the youth organization was transferred entirely over to the control of the Hitler Youth. First edition in Spanish of this scarce catalogue on steam engines, boilers, and machinery intended for the Latin American market. Included are numerous stationary steam engines, steam drilling engines, boilers for industrial and use in buildings, portable steam boilers on wheels, along with vertical steam engines with reverse capability, many of them to be employed in oil drilling, and portable oil rigs.

[Mesa, Franklin County, WA: n.p., 1910]. One large silver gelatin photo sized 8 x 10.25 in. mounted on 9 x 13.25 in. studio board, embossed borders, decorative border w/in negative (some dampstaining to far right margin, minor soiling to righ margin of image, couple minor spots), still G image retaining good contrast. This scarce photo depicts the E.C. Nagel’s (1870-1951) farm near Mesa, WA in the first decade of the 20th Century, when he and his wife Blanche Alma (1872-1943), a local school teacher were amongst the thousands expanding across the Palouse following the development of the Northern Pacific and Great Northern Railways, and Columbia River irrigation projects. Unfortunately, the farm would fail in World War I, and Eberhard went to work for his brother near Pasco, while his wife divorced him, and moved to Olympia where she became an instructor at the women’s college there.

First edition of Weegee’s first book of photographs chronicling the dark and gritty underside of New York, and served ad the basis for the 1948 film by Hellinger.

This story features two orphans Nancy & Plum abandoned to an abusive orphanage, surviving and eventually finding a new home with inspiration from Frances Hodgson Burnett, and assistance of a kindly teacher, librarian, and farmers.
