The printer's label to the front endpaper reads "Bound expressly for Raphael Weill Co. Inc. San Francisco", while an embossed stamp to the rear endpaper reads "Book Department, The White House, San Francisco". An gift inscription, "From M. to E." is dated 1910. Cinquieme mille. Three-quarter binding with fading to spine, marbled paper, endpapers, top edge gilt. Toning to pages throughout.

Paris: Villain et Bar, 1922. Hardcover. Very Good. This appears to be a reissue of a famous 1851 book which covers the topics of eating well at the lowest possible price, how to dine at restaurants, wines, recipes and nutritional principles. Laid in is a card from the very famous Paris restaurant A. Beauvilliers. While we are unable to date the card, the owner Edouard Carlier passed away in 2003. We were only able to find two other copies available in the trade and one copy in auction records (RBH). Please contact us with any questions. Paper covered boards are rubbed, corners rubbed and bumped, wear to all edges, Spine sunned. Dampstaining to rear board. Hinges are sound, paper is discolored, highlighting to one recipe on page 236. Themes included corruption in the church, transsexuality, drug use, and metafiction. 8.25" x 6". 176 pages plus 31 photos from the film. In Spanish. Signed by Pedro Almodovar in thick magic marker. His signature runs from the back of the front cover onto the first page. Condition: Wear to back cover: there is a scratch and the red is rubbing off from the page-side edge from shelfwear. Pages are clean and unmarked.

The dust jacket is in very good condition with some foxing and shelf-wear to the edges. The spine has some tanning. There is slight bending to the edges of the book. The front and back cover has some minor scratches. This is 187/300 of a limited edition printing that includes an original etching by Zuloaga laid in (See Photos).

Orange cloth covers with red lettering. A small bookseller's label on the rear endpaper shows that this book was purchased at "Trail Book Store, Mrs. Enos A. Mills, Longs Peak, Colorado". The wife of Enos Mills, Esther Burnell Mills was herself a noted figure in the early history of Rocky Mountain National Park. Wear to extremities, with slight fraying to tail of spine.
