[24], 794, [46] pp., including engraved title. KING GEORGE III's COPY, with his monogram in gilt to both boards, bound in 18th c. red strait-grained morocco at the King's private bindery at Windsor. Provenance: Front blank with date in pencil of February 13, [18]58, evidently purchased by Charles Butler of Warren Wood in 1858 for 15 shillings. Charles Butler (1821-1910), was a distinguished book collector who lived in London, but kept his library at Warren Wood in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. George III's personal bindery executed bindings from the 1780s-1820s and many of the finishing tools used are still housed at Windsor Castle.
