A gift inscription is dated December 25th/19 i.e. 1919. The caption for Florence Anderen's impressive endpaper illustration of a rather militant Father Christmas assembling children to receive their gifts is 'All Clear'.

Impressively illustrated by 'golden age' artists, the front cover by N.W. St. Davis depicting a boy, girl and dog on tobaggan. The wear to the covers is most noticeable on the edges and spine which is a little mottled and starting to split at hinges. The front panel is rubbed and a little scratched; surprisingly, apart from some child's inexpert colouring on p. 99, it is internally very good.

A child's 'Happy Birthday' inscription on front free endpaper. Upper corner of a few leaves pp. 139-152 a little dog-eared, apparently in production. The dust-jacket has a short tear to the foot of its spine and fingering on its rear panel

Muir 5244 suggests date 194-? The pictorial wrappers feature the sisters and their Blue Mountains school Childermas.
There are owners' names on title page, which has a neat repair, another neat repair to p. 25, two spots to the front cover and a marginal chip to p. 96.

The prize inscription is dated April 18th 1902 for 'Stanley Lambden for good conduct and best grape cutter season 1902 Stonyfell Vineyards'.
