Spine backed in pale, blue-grey silk and knotted twice at the front shoulder with pale beige thread. Previous owner's faded ink scrawl "Nov. 1910 / From Mrs. [D.B.?]." Some soiling to outer wraps, with appx. 1.5 inch closed tear to rear wrapper, mended with a small piece of clear tape to verso. Bound with double leaves, folded at fore edge. Uniformly toned, some corners and edges creased, light soiling throughout. Descriptions of Japanese homes, customs, holidays, music, and art, with numerous color illustrations. Copyright page in Japanese, date (roughly) translated to "Edition August 13, 25th year of Meiji.
