Description:
London: Calder & Boyars, 1966. First UK edition, first printing. This is a very near fine copy. The dust wrapper is very attractive with its plain design, and has not been price clipped (30s). The boards are fine and free from chips and marks. The text blocks are bright and white, and the internals free from previous owners ink. Overall, this is a very near fine copy. Critics and fellow writers praised the book on its release. Due to its frank portrayals of taboo subjects, it was the subject of an obscenity trial in the United Kingdom, subsequently being published here in its first edition two years later.

Description:
London: Dropmore Press, (1949). First limited edition, first printing. This is a near fine copy. The dust wrapper is markedly clean, with some toning at the edges. There is a slight soiling mark at the bottom of the spine. It has not been price clipped. The heavy boards are very near fine in the publisher's cloth and gilt tooling. Internally, the bookplates of Elizabeth Burton and Allen Freer are present on the front endpapers. Of the 1000 numbered copies, this is no. 535. The text blocks are speckled on the top edge but otherwise clean. The John piper illustrations are all present and wonderfully so. Overall, this is a near fine copy of a fine collaborative work.It was a nervous breakdown that drew Sir George Sitwell to Italy in the 20th century. And it was the incomparable gardens of Tuscany, Rome, and the Italian Lake district that inspired him to write his classic analysis of what he considered the timeless principles of garden design.

Description:
London: Thomas Murby & Co., 1934. First edition, first printing. This is a near fine copy. The dust wrapper has some very light wear at the spine tips, and has not been price clipped (15/- net). There are some neat tape repairs to the top of the spine (internal). The boards are sharp but with blemishing throughout, which casts this copy down from the fine grading. The text blocks are pristine throughout and free from foxing. Dust wrappers are markedly rare for this title, with this being the only jacketed copy available on the market. Overall, this is a near fine copy of an exceedingly rare title. The author was arguably the foremost scholar on dinosaurs in the period and the publication of this title cements that claim. The Dinosaurs helped to shape the public perception of the extinct reptiles, but his ideas of dinosaur anatomy, ecology and systematics were soon phased out.
