Description:
New York: W.W. Norton, 1977. First edition. 149 pp. Blue cloth backstrip over blue paper boards, with the dust jacket. Slight edgewear to jacket spine head and tail, bottom corner of front flap clipped (as common with Norton books from the era). Board edges a little sunned. O'Brien's first book, a classic Los Angeles novel. Darcy O'Brien (1939-1998) was the son of the movie stars George O'Brien and Marguerite Churchill, and this book is a thinly disguised look at growing up in Hollywood in the 1940s and 1950s. Reissued by New York Review Books in 2001, the first edition is somewhat uncommon.

One of 250 copies printed for private distribution at the Stamperia Valdonega, Verona. O'More's elegy to his wife, Lorea Honeycutt O'More (1936-1997). O'More is the enigmatic figure best known in the rare book world for his amassing the major collection of books which was auctioned at Sotheby's Garden Ltd sale in 1989. Very slight handling wear to covers, near fine or better, with O'More's morocco gilt decorative bookplate to front pastedown.

One of 200 numbered copies, signed by Oppenheim. Sixteen poems, written between 1933 and 1957, accompanied by fifteen color serigraphs on embossed sheets, one with gold leaf. A beautiful production. OCLC locates two copies in the US (Getty and Nelson-Atkins).
