Description:
A collection of poems by J.E. Caldwell concerned with life in rural Ontario and the surrounding nature. Many of the poems focus on life in the Ottawa Valley. There are also poems in commemoration of significant events, such as Queen Victoria's Jubilee. An interesting firsthand account of life in rural Ontario in the late nineteenth century. This volume is in good condition. there is some wear to the cloth covering the boards, particularly on the spine. There is bumping to the corners as well. There is the signature of a previous owner on the front flyleaf. The pages show some age-related discolouration, but the text is all clear and legible and the binding appears tight.
