Good. 8vo, pp. iv, 436, original blind stamped brown cloth, gilt lettering to spine, rubbed and faded in places, corners and edges bumped, a few splits at the spine, a paper label clipping to the spine (alluding to the fact that the book was to be published that day and cost 8s 8d), the interior missing the ffep, various comments about the author are written on the title page and a book catalogue entry for the book is glued to the top of the page, thereafter the pages are toned to the peripheries but otherwise largely clean, a pithy comment to be found on one page and another at the end, binding has opened at the rear of the book but otherwise sound. Covers the author's travels through counties Wexford, Dublin, Wicklow, Westmeath, Down, Armagh, Londonderry and Donegal. Rare.

Leeson-Marshall was born in 1859 and served with the 3rd and 4th R.M.F. He lived at Callinafercy House, Kilcolman, Co. Kerry and although he is included in the list of officers from Kerry who served abroad in the First World War, it would appear that he did not go to France. He would have been 55 in 1914. *vide Burke's Landed Gentry of Ireland, 1912, p. 460. Rare. Grey card cover a little frayed and tanned at edge and marked, the interior bright and crisp, the cover with paper label pasted down 'With the Author's compliments' and an inked inscription to top of cover 'M.R. Leeson Marshall from H.E.R.'
