Description:
London: J. M. Dent & Co. / and Sons Limited, 1897. First Edition . Hardcover. Good. W. B. Macdougall. The pair of volumes on Germanic heroic legend by partners Armour & Macdougall. Each work is translated by Margaret Armour and illustrated throughout by William B. MacDougall. Bound in brown cloth boards, toned, over lighter blue cloth spine, darkened and re-backed. Bookplate of Donald & Norah Van Den Bergh central to front pastedown. All edges untrimmed. Contents generally clean, but for a little browning towards edges & some scattered foxing. Structurally sound with edgewear. Good. GUDRUN: Armour likens Nibelung & Gudrun to Iliad… Read More
