This work features José Gaspar, known by his nickname Gasparilla (supposedly lived c. 1756 – 1821) , was a purported Spanish pirate, the "last of the Buccaneers," who is claimed to have raided the west coast of Florida during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The volume shows light external age/wear, and is solidly bound with clean pages. The book measures approximately 5 1/2" x 7 3/4" and contains 311 pages plus 3 pages of publisher's advertisements. Author may have been A E Phillips, a druggist and bookseller. .
