A.D.Hope was born in 1907 in Cooma, Australia. He is arguably Australia's most revered and important poet. Put simply, Mr. Abbott is a great writer, always involving an excellent background of facts. So this book about the early days of navigation on the New South Wales Coast will always be of great interest to both ship-loving people and East Coast historians, focusing of course as the title suggests, on the Hunter Valley and Newcastle regions.
