Unknown Place: Unpublished, 1931. The press called Blanche Stuart Scott (1884-1970) the "Tomboy of the Air" in celebration of her groundbreaking role as a pilot. In addition to being the first American woman to fly solo, she was the first woman stunt pilot and the first to fly from coast to coast. The picture appears to have been signed at an airshow clearly after Scott's soloing days were over. The autograph in blue ink remains bright and unfaded--as is the snapshot itself. . SIGNED.
