Description:
Unpublished, 1991. On November 15, 1991 famed "beat" poet Allen Ginsberg performed/lectured in the Virginia Commonwealth University Business Building Auditorium in Richmond, Virginia. Offered here is an original admission ticket (number 360) for that lecture. Ginsberg signed (without inscription) and dated the front of the ticket, and boldly included "AH" within a circle. Beginning sometime around 1978, he frequently accompanied his autograph with that symbol. Although he occasionally gave brief, often enigmatic explanations of the symbol, the most complete explanation of AH that I have seen is written by Ginsberg on the verso of this ticket--and he initialed the explanation! I previously sold a poster for the VCU event that had been signed by Ginsberg for the holder of this ticket. That fan encountered Ginsberg at another event in the following month and on that occasion he asked Ginsberg to sign this ticket and to explain "AH." He did so and dated his signature 12/21/91. A significant…

Description:
New York: Robert M. McBride & Company, 1937. Special Missouri Edition of the first edition that is SIGNED on the colophon page by Benton, the important American artist who was at the forefront of the Regionalist movement. Surrounding the signature and colophon is an original elaborate humorous drawing by Benton, signed twice--once as "Tom" and again as "Tom Collins" (in reference to the drink in his hand in the drawing). Benton inscribed the book and drawing to Roy Snyder, whose signature appears beneath his own image in the drawing. Laid in is a rough sketch of the Snyder farm on which Roy Snyder wrote "drawn by Tom Benton at our house, 1949." The book is in very good+ condition: clean and tight, with uniform faint toning of pages; on the rear free endpaper there is some tape residue where the rough sketch was attached. The unclipped dustjacket is clean and bright, with some fading along the spine; relatively minor chipping at head of spine and along the rear flap fold.. SIGNED. First Edition.…

Stuttgart, Germany: Edition Dornberger, 1971. Original folded silkscreen Christmas card . Dated, inscribed, and signed by famed American artist Robert Indiana: "25-XII-'73. Agnes. Greetings. So nice to receive your note--the "Art" sculpture is at Colby for '75 Inaugural (on loan). Bob." Indiana created Christmas cards that he sent to his personal friends, and Agnes almost certainly was the important Canadian-American artist Agnes Martin. I have not yet determined which sculpture is referenced in the note. The silkscreen is in near-fine condtion: clean and bright, with a hint of wear along the folding edge; the fold is slightly askew revealing a bit of the white margin of the note.. SIGNED.
