Granville, OH: Junior Class of Denison University, Publisher, 1909. Hard Cover. Good. Gray paper covered boards with red cloth spine. 260 pp. Tipped in black and white photos throughout. A yearbook for Denison University for the year 1909, including the usual student related information, as well photos. Included are photos of members of the football, baseball and basketball teams. Provenance: from the collection of Ambrose Swasey, with his bookplate and signature. Swasey was an engineer, inventor and astronomer, perhaps best known for his firm that built astronomical observatories around the world. His bookplate depicts the 36 inch Lick Telescope. GOOD condition. Minor spotting and staining to the covers. Minor soiling and fading. Some scuffing and bumping along the extremities. Light toning to the paper, with offsetting on pages opposite tipped in photos.

No Place: The Getty Conservation Institute, 1993. Soft Cover. Good. 137 pages including index. A detailed and technical look at airborne particles in museums and the soiling to objects they cause. This includes detailed mathematical models of particle dynamics and distribution, including experiments with ventilation and filtration systems, as well as measurements on the rates of soiling and evaluation of protective measures against soiling. GOOD condition, ex-museum library (Strawbery Banke.) With the usual markings: spine label, bookplate, and card pocket. Minor creasing and fading to the covers. Minor soiling. Interior clean and solid.

Volume seven only of this encyclopedia, including entries on France, Gettysburg, etc. GOOD condition. Heavy scuffing to the leather along the hinges and extremities. Moderate scuffing and fading to the marbled paper.

Quarto. 272 pp. A work outlining and documenting standards and specifications for the wide variety of materials used by architects and builders in the construction of buildings, in an effort to enable architects to specify with certainty what materials to be used based on the needs of their project. This includes a look at the many manufacturers and companies that make the material. GOOD condition. Moderate fading. Covers rather grubby, with moderate soiling, staining and spotting. Some scuffing. Cloth frayed along the extremities. Owner's signature present on the inside front cover and lower page edges. Paper toned, with minor scattered soiling, in the interior.

A trade catalog for Arktite circuit breaking plugs, with several pages on their construction installation and use, followed by the usual catalog information on the products featured. GOOD+ condition. Minor to moderate wrinkling and creasing, with minor fading. Light soiling and staining to the rear cover.

A detailed history of the depiction of baseball in film, providing a synopsis of each movie, as well details on producers, directors and cast. VERY GOOD condition. Minor fading and edgewear.

A instructional booklet on the Bermico Conduit Field Machine, which would allow a work crew in the field to machine short lengths of conduit to exact fits. With many detailed black and white photos. Front cover mentions the Western Electric Company as sole distributors in the U.S.A. GOOD condition. Heavy darkening along the lower cover edge, with uneven heavy darkening to the fore edge of the cover and pages. A few faint creases. Slight loss to the covers at the upper and lower corner of the spine. Minor scattered soiling in the interior. Minor to moderate foxing to the first and last page.

New York: Anson D.F. Randolph, 1860. Cloth. Fair. Dark brown flexible cloth covers. 42 pp. A few black and white illustrations in the interior. A short book for children, providing instructions on how to build several kinds of pumps, including a suction pump, a force pump and a small fire "engine" that can force water 20 feet high. With an inscription dedicating the book to Mariana A. Foster, from the author, "her affectionate brother." FAIR condition. Covers and first few pages VERY tenuously attached to the binding. Uneven fading and scuffing to the covers. Extremities scuffed and curled, with a few minor tears. Heavy foxing to the paper in the interior. Almost all of the cloth missing from the spine.

A leaflet advertising a Spartacist League Summer Camp, from August 12-15 in 1971, in the hope of building a communist/marxist party. Includes titles and brief synopses of lectures, such as communist work in the trade unions, from Maoism to Trotskyism, etc. The Spartacist League is a leftist group in the United States, often associated with Trotskyist politics and identity. VERY GOOD condition. Faint vertical crease present. Minor fading and edgewear.

A catalog to a 1965 auction of various pieces of English porcelain, from the properties of Mrs. Derek Fitzgerald, A.R. Martin, Mrs. D.J. Morrison, C.C. Chisholm, Mrs., Meyer Sassoon, and Mrs. D. Vernon Harcourt. Included are Chelsea scent bottles, figures, beakers, bow and derby figures, etc. VERY GOOD condition. Minor browning and toning to the wraps. Some creasing along the extremities. Minor curling and creasing at the corners. Interior slightly toned.

An auction catalog for a 1967 auction of a collection of English ceramics primarily devoted to Leeds Creamware and other types associated them. This includes armorial ware, tortoiseshell, basalt and other wares. Most were produced between 1760 and 1820 (according to the catalog introduction). GOOD condition. Some notes/writing in pencil on the front cover, with minor scattered notes and underlining throughout. Minor fading and soiling. Minor curling/creasing at the corners.

With photos by the previously mentioned artists. VERY GOOD condition. Minor scuffing and edgewear, with light soiling and a hint of toning. Interior clean and solid.

Containing the Peabody Institute bookplate on the inside front cover, which also states, Presented by George Peabody. George Peabody (1795-1869) is considered one of the first modern philanthropists, establishing trusts to help the poor, as well as founding the Peabody Institute. He gained much of his fortune from banking, eventually partnering with Junius Spencer Morgan, father of J.P. Morgan.
