No Place: No Publisher. Unbound. Good. Advertising poster style paper for the 1927 Silent Film, Wings. Single sheet, printed on both sides. 20 by 15 ½ inches. Printed on very thin paper. Dark sepia toned images. One side with large illustrations of planes in dogfights, with several smaller inset images of the cast. Reverse with a half page image of planes and Clara Bow, with the other half page bearing two smaller images. An advertisement for the silent film Wings, a 1927 movie starring Clara Bow, Charles "Buddy" Rogers and Richard Arlen, as well as a small role for Gary Cooper, that according to Wikipedia "helped launch his career in Hollywood." The film was set during World War I, and was noted for its aviation cinematography. GOOD condition. Many horizontal and vertical fold creases present, with moderate wrinkling. Minor general toning. Jefferson, NC: McFarland and Company, 1992. Cloth. Very Good. Red cloth. No jacket. 402 pp. A few black and white photos throughout. A detailed history of the depiction of baseball in film, providing a synopsis of each movie, as well details on producers, directors and cast. VERY GOOD condition. Minor fading and edgewear.

No Place: Castle Studios/Celebrity Pictures, Publisher. Unbound. Good. No place or date. Perhaps a 1940s/1950s printing, based on the Castle Studios imprint. 16 mm film reel. A version of a cartoon by Ub Iwerks, being a pastiche of various fairy tales, and perhaps originally appearing under the title Little Boy Blue. Ub Iwerks was a noted American cartoonist and animator who originally worked with Walt Disney. After a falling out with Disney, Iwerks created his own cartoons before reuniting with Disney in 1940. Iwerks is credited with creating the process for combining animation with live action films. GOOD+ condition. No canister. Reel itself a bit tarnished, soiled and worn. Film appears clean, with no vinegary smell. Not play tested.

No Place: Touchstone Pictures, Publisher, 1988. Unbound. Good. Single sheet, glossy paper stock. 39 ½ by 26 ¾ inches. Full color promotional poster for the movie "Cocktail," starring Tom Cruise. Winning the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Picture, the movie nevertheless was a box office hit. Perfect for the home bar with that 1980s feel. GOOD condition. Horizontal and vertical fold creases present. Minor wrinkling. Small tear at the center of the poster along the horizontal fold crease. Will ship folded.

Copenhagen, Denmark: Minerva Productions, 1969. Unbound. Good. 32 ¼ by 23 ¾ inches. Full color photo depicting Henry Fonda and Dennis Hopper on their motorcycles, a shot based on the publicity photo for the movie Easy Rider. GOOD condition. Stored haphazardly rolled, thus curled, with some uneven creasing and wrinkling. Faint diagonal crease at the upper left, with one or two tiny tears along the edges.

New York: Appleton-Century-Crofts, 1972. Wraps. Good. First edition. Wraps with white plastic comb binding. 500 pp. A collection of three film scripts, "A Hard Day's Night," "The Best Man," and "Darling," preceded by a critical and historical introduction as well as short critical commentary on each film. GOOD condition. Wrappers a bit creased and faded. Minor soiling. Extremities scuffed and curled. Minor toning in the interior.

No Place: Standard Pictures Corporation. Unbound. Good. No place or date, circa 1941. 16 mm film in canister. Reel measures approximately 3 5/8 inches across. A soundie for the song "A Gay Ranchero" by Noro Morales, a pianist and big band leader originally from Puerto Rico. Different sources provide differing information on this particular soundie. UCLA indicates this was produced in 1941 by Minoco Productions. Another source indicates Malina Luba was the singer, although, Maria Del Rey is listed in the opening credits of this reel. Soundies were essentially the first music videos, offering several minute films to accompany a song. Some featured actors and musicians who would later become famous, and some featured African-American artists at a time when they received little to no exposure in music or film. We cannot play test this, so we cannot offer grading other than the film appears to be in good condition, and does not have any vinegar type smell. Minor scuffing and wear to the metal canister.

New York: Ellison B Greenstone, Publisher. Wraps. Good. no date, perhaps circa 1939. Color illustrated wraps. 18 pp. Color illustrations throughout, as well as some in black and white. A program for the Gone With the Wind movie starring Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh, including actor bios and commentary on the film. GOOD condition. Moderate browning to the covers, with some soiling and wrinkling. A few tiny stains present.

No Place: No publisher. Unbound. Good. No publisher, place or date, presumed 1980. Single sided poster. 41 by 27 inches. A promotional poster for a stop motion film featuring the Walt Kelly created comic strip character Pogo, and following his run for president. The movie featured the voices of Ruth Buzzi, Jonathan Winters, Vincent Price and others. GOOD condition. Several horizontal and vertical fold creases present, with wrinkling at the intersections of the folds. Minor toning. Several chips along the right edge.

No Place: No publisher. Unbound. Good. No publisher, place or date. Perhaps Russia, circa 1960. Single sheet, thin paper stock. 46 ¾ by 33 inches. An untitled promotional poster for the 1960 Soviet (Russian) film based on an 1899 story by Anton Chekhov. The film and story follow Anna and her dog, on vacation in Yalta, where she begins an affair with another man. Both married, they return to their married lives, only to rekindle their affair once home. The film was directed by Iosif Kheifits. GOOD condition. Some staining to the upper left corner of the poster, with a few other small stains and areas of light soiling. Minor chipping, tearing and creasing along the extremities, with the upper left corner rather tattered and worn, with some loss (possible mouse damage?). A few minor wrinkles and creases.

London/New York: Proteus Publishing Company, 1984. Hard Cover. Good/Good. Illustrated glossy paper covered boards in matching jacket. 158 pp. Black and white photos throughout. An overview of women as tropic temptresses in films, serials and comics, focusing on plot and stars rather than analysis of genre. GOOD condition. Some foxing to the jacket, with minor soiling and scuffing. Jacket bumped and creased along the extremities. Moderate foxing to the inside covers.

Dunellen, NJ: Syndicate Magazine Corporation, 1934. Wraps. Good. Red wraps with a portrait of Marlene Dietrich on the front cover. 96 pp. Black and white photos throughout. A single issue of this magazine devoted to the movies and movie stars of Hollywood, providing news and notes on Clark Gable, Jean Harlow, Joan Crawford and many others, as well as a fictionalization of the movie 'Little Miss Marker,' starring Shirley Temple, then four years old. Her rise to stardom is also mentioned. With sections on fashion, including photos. GOOD condition. Moderate browning, minor to moderate foxing, soiling and some staining to the covers. Rear cover with moderate insect damage along the hinge. Several small chips, tears and associated creases along the extremities. Several letters colored in in the cover title, with some numbers faintly written on the bottom front cover. Moderate to heavy browning to the paper in the interior. Crossword puzzle filled in.

Heidelberg: Fotopress Grafische, Publisher. Unbound. Good. no date, although presumed to a 1970s reissue to go along with a re-realease of the film in West Germany. Roughly 33 by 24 inches. Rolf Goetze, artist. Poster features the names James Dean and Natalie Wood prominently across the top, with a large illustration of both. German text, "...denn sie wissen nicht, was sie tun," in blue at the lower left. GOOD condition. One vertical and three horizontal fold creases present (stored folded). Minor toning and soiling. Minor creasing and wrinkling at the corners. Several small tack holes/punctures at each corner. A few minor tears along the edges. Old price sticker on the reverse.

Minor creasing, wrinkling and soiling to the poster, with extensive creasing along all edges. Top corners torn, tattered, and missing a piece (upper left).
