This is a very good copy of the scarce and beautifully produced limited edition miniature book published to commemorate Winston Churchill’s honorary U.S. citizenship bestowed by President John F. Kennedy on April 9, 1963. The texts of the Act by Congress designating Churchill an Honorary Citizen of the U.S.; President Kennedy’s remarks on the occasion; the Presidential Proclamation and Churchill’s letter to the President in response are reproduced in full. The book measures 2 1⁄4 x 1 1⁄4 inches and is one of 1,000 copies leatherbound in full crimson crushed morocco, all edges gilt, by Sangorski & Sutcliffe. The leather has very nominally darkened, else fine. ACHILLE J. ST. ONGE (1913–1978) was the greatest maker of miniature books in the 20th Century.
