A pairing of two of the most popular collections by American poet and journalist Ella Wheeler Wilcox (1850-1919), who is perhaps best remembered for verse tinged with an eroticism that, while rather oblique, was still unconventional for her time. Quarto: 267 p. with 20 tipped-in color plates. Original vellum binding, with elaborate gilt stamping and a fore-edge ribbon tie. Light foxing to the contents, more so to the prefatory and concluding leaves. The boards are bowed, with some general soiling to the vellum; otherwise very good.
