Small, squarish, thin book, brown boards very slightly soiled and lightly stained, beautiful color-illustration of bird house and two swallows with hanging pink flowers, raise title on front, all external covering gone from spine, inside covers and adjacent end papers beautifully illustrated, heavier double-page stock with color-illustrations. Slight wear to all edges. Poor--reading copy.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Beautiful and endearing poetry written for friends accompanied by charming floral illustrated color woodblock illustrations on the verso pages in early Art Deco style for each poem. Quaint early printing of this poem (first published 1907) by the famed Chicago poet, journalist and humorist (1871-1927). The mid-western poet and humorist's inspirational poetry printed on one side of double leaves folded in Japanese style with opposing woodblock illustrations.
