Inscribed by "author" on front free endpaper "To ___, my beloved colleague, with gratitude for all your help in past years, Eliot White / New Year's, 1967". A typed card, laid-in, written by the author's daughter, explains the book inscription "Just a note to bring you the sad news that my father, Rev. Eliot White, passed away in the early morning of January 20th . . . . he had had a collection of his poems published this fall, and ironically, the books were delived just this week. . . . . He had been looking forward to sending you a copy, so you will be receiving it, inscribed just as he asked me to do it."
