The last signature, withe five facsimile fold outs, holding by only one cord, as is the lower board. All fold outs intact, no fold line tears but minor aging & foxing. The name of the person who authored the letters signed by "Junius" between 1769 and 1772 and printed in London's "Public Advertiser" has been the subject of much speculation. Many scholars believe the author was Francis Philip, but this has not been confirmed. Junius' letters are reproduced in these two volumes. Ths two volume set bound in green leather with five raised bands, top edges gilt. Each volume contains an extra illustrated title page that preceeds the standard title page. Each volume also contains an illustrated frontis portrait as well as several other portraits depicting the people to whom his letters were addressed.
