The front paste on has scratching. The frontispiece is loose. I did not see any markings in the text with scattered light soil spots. The hinges are cracked. The second hafl of chapter XXI has poems of Dewey and the Philippines and most of those pages are missing. Some loose pages between chapters XXI and XXII..

Bumping to all four tips of the book. Moderate soiling, rubbing and edgewear to covers, with a thin 3-inch green paint splotch to the front cover. Prior owner name and number to blank front free-endpaper. Minor foxing/staining to frontispiece and title page, with a bit of occasional marginal foxing to a couple of other pages inside. A couple of pages with light creasing. Otherwise, a good to very good copy - clean and unmarked.
