Here he describes seven shipwrecks he witnessed: the Josephus (1849), The Clara Bell (1872), The Peruvian and Bark Francis (1873), The Giovanni (1875), the Jason (1893), and the Portland (1898). The plate is of the Jason, and there is an outline map showing the location of the Portland's demise. Also includes a true Cape Cod tale retold by Lillian May Small, presumed to be a relative of the author.
