The second volume of Shepard's autobiography, carrying on from 1890 onwards, when his mother died, through his schooldays at Oliver's, Colet Courts and St. Pauls's, his student days at Heatherley's Art School and the Royal Academy Schools, his engagement to a fellow art student, and finally his marriage shortly after he had succeeded, at the age of 24, in getting a picture hung on the line at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. Best known for his illustrations for A.A. Milne's Pooh books.
