Clean pages with no markings in the text. There is a name label on the inside front cover and a name printed on the front end paper. There is a light crack in the binding in the middle of the book, however there are no loose or missing pages. The cover has some very light scuffing. In very good dark green bevel edged cloth boards, with blind stamped ruled and decorative edges on all sides, gilt circle to front with gilt male head; gilt titles to back strip. The covers are very clean, straight and firm. The end papers are foxed and lightly tanned; name and address sticker to front paste down. Slightly age-toned cut edges; tinted brown top edge. The text block is in very good condition, tightly bound and clean except for the prelims and the end page which are lightly foxed. With many b/w illustrations and with attractive head pieces. Thought to be issued without dust jacket. Part of colllectable collection.
